The Basics

Good morning everyone. I hope your training is going well so far. I have come to the conclusion that your training does not have to be flashy, or over the top. There are many people out there doing hybrids, super hybrids, and even sometimes working out more than twice a day. Working out at a faster pace and more times during the day won't give you faster results.

I look at it like this, If you are doing a particular program, for instance P90X, and you happen to miss a day, will you or should you double up the next day? Some people do. Now, lets say you are taking prescription medication and you happen to miss a dose, are you going to double up the next time? Some people do. My point is, you might be doing more damage to your body by doubling up, whether it be your training or your medication, it might be more than your body can handle at one time. More at one time is not always good for you. By putting your body through so much trauma, you may become susceptible to injury and invite the possibility of being sidelined for a period of time. This can lead to frustration and the need for results becomes immediate has prompted some to desperate measures.

Stick to the basics my friends. I have been very blessed with my training thus far in my life and have made some tremendous results. In the early portion of my training, I learned real fast that my ego had many opportunities of getting in my way of my progress. I quickly sent him away because that was a definite distraction. I have learned to listen to my body and understand its needs, necessities, and how it works. To get optimum results from your workouts, I feel that is a key element to your overall progress. I continually keep my mind open to different training practices that will give me the best results . I stick to training programs that practice fundamentals. This is why I think certain programs are better in its purest form. If I do too much at one time, it may be hard to determine what is actually working for you.

Nothing is going to replace hard work, consistency, motivation, and great nutrition. In my opinion, these 4 elements are the keys to you fitness success. Finding out how your body responds to certain training is done with trial and error. Some mistakes have to be made in order for you to succeed. If you have been stuck doing the same workout for a long period of time with no results, it's time for something new. Make sure you do your research before you try a new program. If you have friends that have been training for some time and their results are evident, ask them. You will get best and most honest answers necessary. Don't be sold by alot of programs that are being marketed on Television. Just because they are T.V., doesn't mean they are the best. Pay attention to your body, do what's best for it and most important, STICK TO THE BASICS!
