Why is the question many of us face , almost everyday. We sit back and wonder, does it ever occur to us that sometimes the answer to that isn't always readily available. HMMM? Food for thought already!
As children , the question that we would always ask our parents is Why? 'Time to go to bed" Why? "Time to clean up your room" Why? "Time to come inside" Why? "Time to do your chores" Why? " Time to get up for school" Why?
"Why" is programmed into our lives at an early age and sometimes the responses I would get would be, "because", "I'm your dad", "I'm your mom", or even "because I said".
As I got older , I began to realize that the answer to "Why" needed to be a little more in depth than "just because". I feel that the person asking "why" deserved a better answer than "just because". When my daughter asks me "why", I do my best to give her the most thorough answer to help her understand the why. Every "why" I come across gives me the opportunity to turn that into a learning experience for her and I.
Since becoming a Beachbody coach and transforming many facets of my life, I started too ask myself , "WHY?" The best thing about asking myself Why, is that now , I have the answer for everyone of them. Sometimes, I like to check in every so often with my "Why", like I am doing right now.
The first why I want to ask myself is " Why is health & wellness very important in my life" The answer , simply, is that I love the way I feel by being fit. I'm 42 years old and I have been Blessed not to have any any medical issues or injuries preventing me from training. I have not and will not take that for granted. I hold that very sacred in my life.
The second why I ask is, "Why do I do the the things I do everyday, ie. eat healthy, train hard? Prior to March of 2009, I was not in the greatest of health. I was the epitome of a procrastinator, and a big slob. I felt horrible, not only physically, but mostly mentally. I didn't want to be that person anymore so I made a change to get fit, stay fit, inspire, and motivate! The feeling I get when I can inspire others is more important than lasting all the way through an Insanity workout. The stronger I get, then so do the people I motivate! My motivation is derived from INSPIRATION!
I feel sometimes people need to check their "Why's. I love doing what I am doing and I love the person that I have become. It's amazing to me that all my results and accomplishments have all come from that little question, "Why?" It has made me a better person and allows me to make healthier and smarter choices in my daily living. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed sharing my WHY with you. Stay inspired , why, why not! LOL , God Bless, Rich
