Mental Strength to stay in the Game!

If you are the average guy like myself that works a 40 hour a week job, has a family, a house payment, and all the other nuances that come with life, there is a bit of mental strength that must be maintained in order for you to stay in the game.
Now, what game are we exactly talking about you may ask? I'm referring to the Fitness and health game. I presently train 6 days a week with 1 rest day. For me, that takes a great amount stamina, endurance, as well as mental strength. Now in my situation, I carry a gun and a badge and I get to work with criminals all day. To top it off, there are days I am forced to work overtime and miss that day of training which really puts a monkey wrench into my workout plan. Those are the days I just chalk it up, and pick up the next day, and keep moving. There is no reason for me to beat myself up over it. The real test of your mental strength comes into play the following day because you are lacking sleep from the day before, you are tired and your body just wants to rest now! That is not an option! You know you have work to do and a mission to accomplish! Those days com with a price. The 1st thing I do is paint a picture in my head and look at the road I have traveled. There has been hills and valleys but along the way, much has been accomplished. The 2nd thing I do is I begin to fuel my mind with inner strength that will overshadow my physical fatigue. The 3rd thing is to clear out all the negative stuff that might be lingering still and envision the workout you have ahead of you. Think to yourself,do I wanna just get the through the workout? Or, do I wanna kick A$$ in my workout. The answer is, kick A$$! The last and most important thing is, you want to tell yourself, no matter what it takes, I will do my very best! You will see it through and you will have accomplished what you set out to do. There will be times that mountain you are climbing in your head may seem like Mount Everest but before you know, you will be standing on top, victorious! Focus, focus, focus on the road ahead and don't worry about the surrounding area. You must train your brain for that mental strength. In some aspects, it is a muscle and it has to be worked. In order for it to get stronger, you must exercise it. Stay in the game and keep that mental edge. The journey may be tiring but your destination will be a vacation.
