Decision VS. Commitment

Thoughts of resolutions for 2011 have probably been floating through your head for a little bit now. As 2010 was just about to end, thousands of us have many things we would love to accomplish for this new year. We then prioritize these thoughts and make decisions based upon what is most important.

Our intentions are to complete and accomplish every resolution we decide to make , but more times than not, alot of people are not as successful in fulfilling their resolutions.

One of the biggest decisions our society makes at the end of the year is on health and fitness. We tell ourselves, this is my year and I'm gonna get in the best shape of my life. Here is what usually happens. We start off like a bull out of a shoot going 100 miles an hour. 2 weeks go by and we are still working out. So far so good. The 3rd week hits and it starts to slow down just a little. The fire isn't as high and the intensity isn't as good. Now you are at snails pace when it comes to your fitness. The 4th and 5th week are here and now you are at a dead stop. Other things are now occupying your time and there is little to no interest at all to your physical fitness decision. Now here is the question you need to ask your self, "WHAT HAPPENED?" Guess what, I have the answer. There was no COMMITMENT to the decision you made. If you have a certain goal when it comes to your fitness or any other decision that is important in your life, there has to be a COMMITMENT, a BOND, an OBLIGATION to yourself to seal the deal! There are thousands of miles that come between decision and commitment.

When it comes to a person's fitness , most people cringe at the thought of making a commitment. That means, there is a gonna be some pain involved and I really have to work to get the results I want. Most people want the instant gratification and don't want to take the time for true results. The gratification that I have experienced so far has been the results I have achieved by working my tail off. Let me tell you, I used to be on of those people who make decisions and would never follow through with them. Not any more. It takes dedication, desire, and a warriors strength to make a true commitment. Commitments are not for a season, most are life changing.

Much honor comes from making true commitments! I have experienced a passion and desire by committing to the decisions I have made in the past couple of years. Commitments have left me stronger, wiser, and over all, a better person, a dear friend, and a great father. I pray that if you are reading this right now, that you experience the feeling that I have felt by deciding to COMMIT! So , what will you do ? Decision or Commitment? The reward for one of these will outlast the other by FAR!

God Bless , Rich Sanchez
